Winner of 15 world titles, Giacomo Agostini is universally recognized as the best motorcycle racer of all time. His career spans the period between the 1960s and the first decade of the 1970s. Agostini remained in the world of racing even after retiring from competitive activity, holding various roles such as sports director, commentator and MotoGP commentator.
His world championship successes were won in the top categories, eight in 500cc and seven in 350cc, climbing 122 times to the top step of the podium. I was the first motorcyclist who experienced sport and popularity as the champions of two wheels do today. Remembered for his successes on the track and loved by the public, he was a true idol for Italians; a reference rider for many sponsors whose logos regularly appeared on his suit, he also played the role of protagonist in photo stories and was the testimonial for advertising campaigns as well as an actor.
His riding style was clean and fast, Agostini rarely fell, a quality that ensured his consistent results for thirteen seasons.
