Fondazione Laureus Sport for Good ETS
"Sport has the power to change the world, it has the power to inspire people. It has the power to unite in a way that few other things can. It speaks to youth in a language they can understand. It is more powerful than governments in breaking down racial barriers. Sport can create hope where there was once only despair."
These words, spoken by Nelson Mandela in 2000 at the first Laureus Awards, inspired the birth of the "Laureus Sport for Good" movement, an organization that supports over 200 projects in 40 countries from the North to the South of the world.
Since 2005, Laureus Sport for Good Foundation ETS has been active throughout Italy with the aim of using the power of sport to combat inequalities and all forms of discrimination.
Laureus Foundation believes in sport as a tool for positive change for children living in conditions of severe economic and social deprivation and, through a unique intervention model, offers them opportunities for growth and development.
For Laureus, sport is not just a game. Sport is therapy.
Support Laureus, support the sport that changes lives.
