Biondi Santi 2018 Brunello di Montalcino - Wooden Case of 6 Bottles

The Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Greppo 2018 by Biondi Santi comes from a timeless 1980s vintage, marked by elegance and balance, with a dry but not excessively hot summer and northerly winds at the beginning of August.

The nose is rich and layered, with notes of face powder and redcurrant, sour cherry and lavender, alongside hints of tobacco and a pronounced fruit character. Further nuances of walnut husk, cassis, cinchona, pomegranate, carob, lavender and resin add complexity.

On the palate, the wine shows splendid, sumptuous tannins and a return to classic freshness. Sweetness is present but never dominant. The progression is gradual and understated, with ferrous, blood-like notes, touches of rust and a fragrant character, while the still-vibrant acidity keeps the wine taut and not yet fully revealing all of its depth.
