Team Jayco alula, formerly known as Greenedge, Orica, Mitchelton-Scott and Team BikeExchange-Jayco, is an Australian men’s road cycling team. Active in professionalism since 2012, has licensed UCI World Tour.
The team refers to the greenedge sports association, and is headed by Shayne Bannan and Matthew White.
The greenedge project was launched in January 2011 by General Manager Shayne Bannan, during the Tour Down Under, with the intention of creating an Australian team that could compete in the UCI World Tour. The first official announcement was the sponsorship agreement reached with Scott, a bicycle manufacturer, followed by the three-year agreement with Santini, Italian knitwear manufacturer who becomes the main sponsor of the team’s clothing. In May, it was announced that Australian sports physician Peter Barnes, who had been active in cycling for some time, would be hired. Young Australian cyclists Jack Bobridge, three-time track world champion, Cameron Meyer, five-time track world champion, and Travis Meyer, 2011 Australian road champion, were the first three riders to be contracted by the team
From 2012 to 2017 it had as main sponsor Orica, a multinational active in the extractive sector, while from 2018 to 2020 the first name was that of Mitchelton, a company active in the hotel and wine sectors.
After several successes in the classics, in 2018 the team achieved victory in three stages of the Giro d'Italia, in the Vuelta a España and in the individual World Tour ranking with Simon Yates.
