S.S. Lazio

Società Sportiva Lazio, better known as Lazio, is an Italian football club from the city of Rome, football section of the Polisportiva S.S. Lazio.

The Lazio Running Society was founded on 9 January 1900 by a group of young athletes led by the Bersaglieri non-commissioned officer Luigi Bigiarelli. After making his debut in a white uniform, sometimes with blue social writing on the chest, at the beginning of the twentieth century he adopted today's white and blue playing uniform, or its blue and white variant, borrowing his social colors from the flag of Greece, home of the Olympics.

It boasts in its palmarès 2 Italian champion titles (1974 and 2000), 7 Italian Cups, 5 Italian Super Cups and, internationally, the 1998-99 Cup Winners' Cup and the 1999 UEFA Super Cup. Lazio is the fifth Italian club and the twenty-eighth European in terms of number of UEFA competitions won.
