Tadej Pogačar
Tadej was born in Klanec, near Komenda, on September 21, 1998.
His interest in sport showed very early and in 2007 he became a member of the Rog Ljubljana cycling club.
The following year, at just ten years old, he had his first race in Trstenik, near Kranj, and in 2009 he obtained his first cycling victory in the Krvavec climb.
At just 20, he becomes the youngest cyclist to win a UCI WorldTour stage race.
On his debut at the Vuelta di Spagna he ranks third as a cyclist and wins the title of best rookie.
2020 is a fundamental year for him: he becomes the first Slovenian to win the Tour de France and his great success is repeated the following year, marked by many other triumphs: he wins the Tour de Slovenia and conquers the bronze in road racing men at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
He also won two classics, the Liège-Bastogne-Liège and the Giro di Lombardia.
He ended the season as the best road cyclist of the year 2021.
