Marcello Lippi
Marcello Romeo Lippi is a former Italian footballer and coach.
Five times Italian champion with Juventus in the two periods in which he coached (1994-1999 and 2001-2004), he was technical commissioner of the Italian national team from 2004 to 2006 and from 2008 to 2010, leading to the victory of the FIFA World Cup 2006, after which he became the first coach in football history to have won top international competitions at national (world) and club level (UEFA Champions League in 1995-1996 and Intercontinental Cup in 1996 with the Bianconeri team)Vicente del Bosque, the former head coach of the Spanish national team and former coach of Real Madrid.
He was also the first coach to reach, in 2008, 31 consecutive games without suffering losses between his two experiences as coach of the national team, exceeding the previous record of Vittorio Pozzo (30 consecutive useful matches, reached by coaching the national team continuously) and equalling the world record belonging ex aequo to Alfio Basile and Javier Clemente (record surpassed in 2021 by Roberto Mancini). He is also, with Fabio Capello and Zinédine Zidane, one of the three coaches to have reached three consecutive Champions League finals (from 1996 to 1998).
