L.R. Vicenza

L.R. Vicenza S.p.A. (Lanerossi Vicenza), better known as Vicenza, is an Italian football club based in Vicenza. He plays in Serie C, the third division of the Italian football league.

Established in 2018 through the transfer to the city of Bassano following the bankruptcy of the company, it is heir and de facto continuation of the sports tradition started on 9 March 1902 with the foundation of the Association of Football in Vicenza (often signed ACIVI) and then passed through Lanerossi Vicenza from 1953 to 1989 and finally Vicenza Calcio, which failed in 2018.

It is the oldest football club in northeastern Italy as well as Triveneto and Veneto. He has played 30 Serie A championships, of which 20 consecutive between 1955-1956 and 1974-1975: he therefore occupies 19th place in the ranking of the sporting tradition of the clubs that have played in the Italian top division and 17th place in the relative perpetual ranking. The IFFHS ranks it among the 15 best Italian formations of the 20th century.

At the national level he won the Italian Cup (1996-1997) and the Italian Cup Serie C in 1981-1982 and 2022-2023, while the best result at international level remains the semi-final of the Cup Winners' Cup (1997-1998); also includes the achievement of the final in the First Category Championship 1910-1911, when he was defeated by Pro Vercelli, and the second place behind Juventus in the Serie A 1977-1978, in which he achieved the best ever result of a neopromossa in the era of the single group.
