Official Team Cannondale shirt from the 2013 season, signed on the front by one of its riders, Ivan Basso.
At the beating heart of international cycling, Team Cannondale made its mark as a professional road racing team, competing under the name Cannondale Pro Cycling Team on some of the sport’s most prestigious stages, including the UCI WorldTour. A team synonymous with innovation, grit, and talent, it served as a platform for some of the most iconic names in cycling. Among them stands out Ivan Basso, one of the most beloved and respected legends of Italian cycling.
Born with cycling in his blood, Ivan developed a passion for the sport from a young age: a passion that would carry him far. His first major triumph came in Valkenburg, Netherlands, where he won the title of Under-23 World Champion, a victory that flung open the doors to professional racing. He made his pro debut at the 2000 Giro d’Italia with the Riso Scotti Vinavil team and soon earned his first call-up to the Italian national squad.
In 2001, Basso faced his first Tour de France, marking the beginning of a determined and steady rise through the ranks. Nicknamed "Ivan the Terrible", his reputation as a relentless climber and all-rounder made him both feared in the peloton and adored by fans. In 2004, he secured third place on the Tour podium, and at the Giro d’Italia, he collected memorable stage wins in 2005 before claiming overall victories in 2006 and 2010. A tenacious and strategic rider, Basso could set the mountains ablaze and ignite the dreams of cycling enthusiasts around the world.
The new charity auctions promoted by BOF aim to raise funds for the purchase of a LUCAS Chest Compression System, to be donated to the Imola AUSL Emergency Unit (118 Department).
