Marco Melandri Superbike worn helmet | Special model | Signed

Description
Nolan Helmet Worn by Marco Melandri at the 2017 Imola Grand Prix – Round 5 of the Superbike World Championship.
For his home Grand Prix, Marco Melandri used a special version of his Nolan X-802RR helmet, called “Riccio turista italiano”. This version, in light blue, features caricatures of Italy’s main regions and cities.
During this race weekend, Melandri, riding his Ducati Panigale R for the official Ducati Aruba team, finished 3rd in Race 1 and 5th in Race 2. This was also the last Grand Prix featuring Nicky Hayden, as just three days later, on May 17, the American rider tragically lost his life in a bicycle accident.
Melandri has signed the helmet on one side.
The helmet also bears the “FIM Technical Verifications” sticker, an adhesive label indicating that it has passed the FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) homologation tests, meeting the high safety standards required for top-level motorcycle competitions, such as MotoGP and Superbike. The helmet was tested according to the FIM Racing Homologation Programme, which imposes stricter requirements than standard road homologations.
Marco Melandri is a retired Italian motorcycle racer, 250cc World Champion in 2002, and holds the record for the most wins by an Italian rider in the Superbike World Championship, with 22 victories. Throughout his career in MotoGP and Superbike, he competed in over 400 races, securing 44 wins and 137 podium finishes.
