Description

The racing gloves worn by Gilles Villeneuve during his time with Ferrari (from the 1979 season to 1982, the season in which he lost his life).

Villeneuve has signed both the gloves on the palm.

The gloves are accompanied by an F1 Authentics Certificate of Authenticity.

Joseph Gilles Henri Villeneuve was a Canadian racing driver.

He made his Formula 1 debut at the 1977 British Grand Prix with McLaren; later that same year, Scuderia Ferrari signed him for the last two races of the season to replace Niki Lauda.

He died following an accident caused by a collision with Jochen Mass’s March during qualifying for the 1982 Belgian Grand Prix at the Zolder circuit, while driving the Ferrari 126 C2.

Villeneuve participated in a total of 67 Grands Prix during his career, winning six and achieving thirteen additional podium finishes.

The circuit on Notre Dame Island in Montreal, which hosts the Canadian Grand Prix, was named "Circuit Gilles Villeneuve" in his honor, along with a sign painted on the start/finish line that reads "Salut Gilles."
