“I remember well standing at the window and just watching life go by.” (Dorothea Lange)

At some point in their lives, many photographers have tried to contemplate the world from their home window. From Joseph Niépce with his famous View from the Window of the House in Grasse to Joseph Sudek with the series From the Window of My Studio. Even W. Eugene Smith, after having worked all over the world, chooses to use only one reassuring point of view: his window. However, the most evocative moments are those awaited and photographed by Paul Strand and Andrè Kertész. Landscapes under the snow with the presence of small human figures. In this research of mine, I preferred color to black and white, I played on the contrast between the white of the snow and the marks left by the tires of the cars. People on foot and on bicycles. With and without umbrellas. People coming and going, all in a hurry."

(“From the Window” 2008-2010)
