Description
The works of Elena Amodeo, aka AMO, are characterized by a highly recognizable and entirely personal style, finding a union also with her own poetics.
Her works appear as mosaics, embroideries, made through small circles painted one by one, like evolving molecules.
A technique that finds inspiration from ancient art, such as the Byzantine mosaic tradition, up to the most modern currents on the visual perception of images from pointillism to the avant-garde.
The result are works that, through the strength and intensity of color, manage to instill a profound sense of peace and freedom, stimulate curiosity and ignite the imagination of the viewer, transporting him on a journey where there is "a world in which everything comes to life from the same matter, in the harmony of the whole".
Inspired by the neologism Eutierra by the Australian philosopher Glenn Albrecht, Elena Amodeo describes in her works this feeling of strength and peace that unites man to the Planet. As in the dreamlike islands of the series “The Islands” characterized by a still uncontaminated flora, floating lands that become a metaphor for a journey felt as an interior experience or of real discovery.

The playful aspect and the search for a dreamlike dimension that has always accompanied my works allows me to always see beyond things, imagining that from every single form new ones can be born and in infinite variations, as in life new possibilities of experience or, as in nature, from a single molecule. A word, an object, an emotion can change every day or be perceived through a new point of view, independently of us or, if we commit ourselves, through our will and sensitivity of soul.
