Description

2 seats to attend the concert of the Filarmonica della Scala conducted by Maestro Vasily Petrenko, violin Isabelle Faust.

  •  The concert will take place on Monday 20 November 2023 at 8.00 pm at the Teatro alla Scala, in Milan.

On the programme:

- John Adams, The Chairman Dances

- Béla Bartók, Concerto No. 1 for violin and orchestra, BB 48a / SZ 36

- Sergej Rachmaninov, Symphonic dances op. 45

Vasily Petrenko is music director of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London and principal conductor of the European Union Youth Orchestra. Isabelle Faust is one of the best violinists in the world, at the height of her career; she has worked with conductors such as Claudio Abbado and Bernard Haitink.

Béla Bartók’s Concerto n.1 avoids exhibitionism and special effects. Led by Vasily Petrenko, the violin and orchestra embody that music that contains all the discoveries of the mature Bartók. Russian musical traditions inspire some passages of Sergei Rachmaninov’s Symphonic Dances, the composer’s last work. Petrenko proposes, for the first time in the Philharmonic season, The Chairman Dances by John Adams.

The tickets were donated by Filarmonica della Scala.
