Michael Schumacher, a seven-time Formula 1 World Champion, is widely regarded as one of the greatest drivers in motorsport history.

After winning five consecutive World Championships with Ferrari between 2000 and 2004 and announcing his first retirement in 2006, the German driver returned to racing in 2010 with Mercedes, marking the beginning of the final chapter of his extraordinary career.

The 2011 season marked Schumacher's second year with Mercedes, during which he competed behind the wheel of the Mercedes MGP W02, alongside teammate Nico Rosberg. Despite driving a car that was not yet competitive enough to challenge for the title, Schumacher once again demonstrated his experience and determination, achieving his best result of the season with a fourth-place finish at the Canadian Grand Prix.
