“Distinción de Honor” diploma and commemorative medal awarded to Diego Armando Maradona by the Argentine Chamber of Deputies in June 2016, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Argentina National Team’s victory at the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico.

The award celebrates the 30th anniversary of Argentina’s 1986 World Cup victory, a tournament in which Maradona captained the team and played a key role in securing the title.

The diploma bears the official “Diputados Argentina” heading and the inscription “Distinción de Honor a la Selección Argentina de Fútbol en el 30° aniversario de la obtención del campeonato mundial México 1986”.

At the bottom are the signatures of Héctor W. Baldassi, National Deputy, and Emilio Monzó, President of the Argentine Chamber of Deputies.

Dated Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, June 2016, the document represents an institutional recognition connected to one of the most important moments in Maradona’s career and in the history of Argentine football.

The commemorative medal is accompanied by a ribbon in the colours of the Argentine flag.

One side of the medal features the logo of the Argentine Chamber of Deputies and the inscription “Campeones del Mundo 1986”.

The reverse is engraved with the name “Diego Armando Maradona” and the inscription “Héroe Deportivo de la Patria 1986–2016”, highlighting Maradona’s symbolic role in Argentina’s historic World Cup triumph. The medal is preserved in its original presentation case.
