The F.C. Internazionale pennant celebrates the great successes achieved by the Nerazzurri in Italy and, the legendary era of the Grande Inter, which culminated in the club’s European and world triumphs of 1964 and 1965.

Made from satin fabric, the pennant features a richly detailed design in Inter’s traditional black and blue colours. A diagonal band bearing the inscription “F.C. Internazionale” runs across the centre, surrounded by the flags of several European nations. The central section features representations of the European Cup and the Intercontinental Cup, accompanied by the years 1964 and 1965, commemorating Inter’s extraordinary back-to-back international doubles.

The lower section also celebrates the club’s Italian Championship titles won up to that point, with a series of Scudetto shields accompanied by the corresponding seasons, from Inter’s first title in 1909/10 through to the 1964/65 championship. The historic Inter emblem is also displayed prominently in the centre.

The pennant commemorates one of the most glorious periods in Inter’s history. Under the management of Helenio Herrera, Inter won the European Cup in both 1964 and 1965, defeating Real Madrid and Benfica respectively in the two finals. In both years, the Nerazzurri also lifted the Intercontinental Cup, overcoming Independiente and becoming champions of both Europe and the world for two consecutive seasons.

A particularly evocative piece of memorabilia from the era of the Grande Inter, the legendary team featuring iconic players such as Giacinto Facchetti, Sandro Mazzola, Luis Suárez and Armando Picchi, who helped establish Inter as one of the dominant forces in international football during the 1960s.
