The caption at the bottom commemorates the final of May 27, 1965, at San Siro, won by Inter against Benfica. The names of the key players in the team are also listed: Sarti, Facchetti, Guarneri, Bedin, Burgnich, Picchi, Jair, Mazzola, Peirò, Suarez, and Corso.
The object consists of a paper print protected by glass and framed in a wooden frame. The paper shows some yellowing due to age, with widespread signs of wear. The frame also shows normal signs of aging.
This is a commemorative piece tied to the historic second European Cup won by Inter Milan in the 1964-65 season.
The 1964-65 European Cup was the tenth edition of Europe's premier club competition. Inter, coached by Helenio Herrera, won the trophy by defeating Benfica 1-0 in the final played at San Siro on May 27, 1965, in front of over 80,000 spectators. The decisive goal was scored by Jair in the first half. With this victory, the Nerazzurri became one of the dominant teams in European football at the time, winning their second consecutive European Cup after their 1964 triumph against Real Madrid. The 1965 victory represents one of the most prestigious moments in the history of the "Grande Inter", a team that defined an era thanks to champions such as Facchetti, Mazzola, Suarez, and Corso.
