Torino Talmone match issued/worn shirt by number 11 in a official match, 1958/59 season.

After the Superga tragedy in 1949, Torino went through the entire 1950s in difficulty. The team had to be rebuilt from scratch and went through inconsistent seasons, with continuous changes in management and coaching, never returning to the levels of the Grande Torino.

At the end of the decade, in order to deal with financial struggles, the club reached an agreement with Talmone, a historic confectionery company from Turin known for producing chocolate and sweets, for a sponsorship covering the 1958–59, 1959–60, and 1960–61 seasons.

The team thus became “Talmone Torino”, with the “T” of Talmone displayed on the shirt. This decision was poorly received by the fans, as was the move from the Filadelfia stadium to the Comunale.

Despite some new signings, the situation did not improve. Torino finished in last place and, in 1959, were relegated to Serie B for the first time.

Following this failure, the new president Luigi Morando terminated the agreement with Talmone. The club returned to being called simply Torino, bringing a negative experience to an end.
