Description

Louis Vuitton Cup. Perth. 1986. Original poster for Louis Vuitton, 67 x 95 cm. Hand-signed lower left. One of the most famous and celebrated compositions of the great French artist's entire oeuvre, symbolic and evocative. In excellent condition.

Razzia is one of the leading artists of poster and advertising illustration in the second half of the twentieth century. He began his career in the 1970s, creating works for some of the most important labels, especially French ones, and particularly Louis Vuitton. His style almost always evokes the spirit of Art Deco, the golden age of European and American posters. The original subjects of Razzia's posters are hand-painted in oil or acrylic, using a pictorial technique, without the use of computer graphics, and are complemented and enriched in the silkscreen transposition by carefully studied and appropriately placed text. The resulting work is simultaneously retro and modern, persuasive and incisive, sensual and assertive, and effectively communicative.

The work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

The work will be delivered framed.

This lot was donated by Galleria L'Estampe di Emanuele Cardellino.
