The match ended 2–1 in favor of Manchester City. In this game, Sergio Ramos started and played wearing a long-sleeved shirt.

Real Madrid took the field wearing shirts featuring the commemorative patch for the 2018 FIFA Club World Cup victory in all group stage matches, as shown in the gallery.

For these reasons, the shirt can only be linked to the first leg match against Manchester City.
