Pele match boots
Description
Boots match issued/worn by Pele in an official match.
Pelé, whose full name was Edson Arantes do Nascimento, is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers in history. Born in Brazil in 1940, he began his professional career with Santos FC in 1956 and quickly rose to global fame thanks to his exceptional skill, creativity, and remarkable goal-scoring ability. With Santos, he won numerous trophies, including the Copa Libertadores and the Intercontinental Cup, dominating South American football during the 1960s.
With the Brazilian national team, Pelé achieved worldwide recognition by winning three FIFA World Cups (1958, 1962, and 1970), a record that remains unique in football history. After a legendary career in Brazil, he finished playing in the United States with the New York Cosmos, helping popularize football in the country. Pelé retired in 1977, leaving an extraordinary legacy and becoming a global icon of the sport.
The boots show signs of wear, plausibly related to game actions, however no photographic evidence of these has been found and therefore it is not possible to guarantee beyond any reasonable doubt that they were actually worn in a match (and not perhaps become dirty in some other way over time).
This memorabilia piece is part of the Campaign dedicated to objects that have shaped the history of great football: a unique item, previously displayed at the San Siro Museum, that tells the story of the achievements, emotions, and triumphs of the great teams that have played in this stadium, particularly Milan and Inter, as well as international clubs and national team: indissolubly linked to the legend of one of the most iconic stadiums in the world: San Siro!
This memorabilia is part of the match supply made available to players during official competitions and is different in its features in relation to the ones sold in fanshops, it could have been worn during the match and washed after the end of the match or prepared for the match but then not used.
