AC Milan match shirt issued for/worn by Massimo Ambrosini for the UEFA Champions League group stage match (Matchday 3) played against FC Barcelona on 26 September 2000, during the 2000/01 season.

The match ended in a 2–0 victory for Alberto Zaccheroni’s AC Milan. Ambrosini played 85 minutes before being substituted.

This shirt can be attributed exclusively to this match, as AC Milan wore the white away kit in the UEFA Champions League on only one other occasion, against Paris Saint-Germain. On that occasion, however, the Rossoneri took the field with the Corsa sponsor, as the French club also had Opel as their main sponsor and, under UEFA regulations, two teams were not permitted to play a match with the same sponsor.

For this reason, the shirt offered at auction can be attributed solely to the match against FC Barcelona.

Furthermore, the shirt originates from the private collection of a former AC Milan executive.
