“Girl on Harley” is a painting created by the artist Antonello Arena in 2006.

It is a large oil on canvas (100×70 cm), entirely hand-painted on jute canvas. The work belongs to the most sensual side of Arena’s production, in continuity with his well-known “Sexy Art” series, a theme the artist has explored since the years of his erotic realism.

The scene depicts a young blonde woman in a provocative pose on a Harley-Davidson-style motorcycle, immersed in a nocturnal and dynamic atmosphere rendered through warm tones and vivid contrasts. The female figure, painted with soft and blended brushwork, stands out against the metallic reflections of the motorcycle, creating a strong visual and emotional impact.

Arena, known for his ability to merge sensuality and realism, developed much of this stylistic approach during the 1980s and 1990s, a period in which he also worked as a consultant for Italian “sexy comedy” film productions. Throughout his career he has been featured in prestigious exhibitions, including the 1988 Venice Biennale, and worked alongside leading figures of Nouveau Réalisme such as Mimmo Rotella, Arman, and Christo. The renowned critic Pierre Restany described him as “the most innovative Italian artist of the mid-generation.”
