Bruno Cerella and Tommaso Marino
Bruno Cerella and Tommaso Marino are the two basketball players and founders of Slums Dunk, the non-profit organization established in 2011 that uses basketball as a tool to improve the living conditions of children and young people growing up in communities still affected by severe social hardship.
In the project created by the two friends, basketball is not just a sport, but an educational instrument for inclusion, socialization and empowerment, capable of bringing hope to people living in extremely difficult environments.
Today, Slums Dunk programs involve thousands of children and young people both locally and internationally, and the organization will soon expand to Cambodia to make sport increasingly accessible to those who lack the opportunity to practice it. Because sport is a universal language — a tool that brings people together and knows no boundaries.
