Description
Book signed by singer Ellie Goulding.
Elena Jane "Ellie" Goulding is a British singer and songwriter. Her career began when she met producers Starsmith and Frankmusik, and was later discovered by Jamie Lillywhite, who became her manager and A&R.
Ellie Goulding has struggled with panic attacks and an addiction to exercise. These are the implications that emerge in her book, “Fitter. Calmer. Stronger”. At the height of her fame, the singer found herself in the midst of an acute depression that left her oscillating between “complete elation and absolute terror”. In an extract from her book, obtained by The Sun, the new mother wrote: “I often felt like I was failing because when I was feeling down I wasn’t productive… But even if I write something I love, I can’t always rely on it to make me feel good. I often write my best songs when I’m feeling miserable.”
For Ellie, fame was a double-edged sword: divided between red carpets and television appearances, she was the victim of severe panic attacks. In the book, Ellie also describes being hospitalized after a crisis triggered by the death of a dear friend's father. Only thanks to cognitive behavioral therapy was Ellie able to keep the panic attacks at bay, which however did not make her immune to fitness addiction. What started as 30 minutes of exercise a day eventually turned into a prison.
