Description

Ringo Starr – "Goodnight Vienna" (1974) - Original Apple Records Edition.

"Goodnight Vienna" is the fourth solo studio album by Ringo Starr, released in 1974 by Apple Records. After the success of "Ringo" (1973), Starr consolidated his solo career with an album with an energetic and engaging sound, with the participation of numerous prestigious artists, including John Lennon, Elton John, Billy Preston and Dr. John.

The album takes its title from an English colloquial expression that indicates "the end of something", and is characterized by a mix of rock, pop and rhythm & blues influences. The opening track, "Goodnight Vienna", was written especially for Ringo by John Lennon, underlining the strong bond between the two former members of the Beatles.

Original cover with artwork inspired by the science fiction film The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951), in which Ringo Starr replaces the protagonist in the famous scene next to the robot Gort.

Back cover with an image of a space nebula, in line with the science fiction theme of the artwork.

Apple Records label with space artwork and an image of the Ring Nebula, typical of early editions.

An unmissable collector's item for fans of Ringo Starr, the Beatles and 70's rock.
