Description

The G. and D. De Marchi Foundation has been offering an art therapy service for over ten years, designed especially for the young patients of the Pediatric Day Hospital.

In this context, the role of the art therapist is essential to transform the time spent by children in a hospital facility into a playful and peaceful moment. When possible, several patients are involved in the realization of group activities.

In other cases, for example when the children are very young, parents are also actively involved.

Furthermore, most patients with chronic diseases must undergo certain treatments on a regular basis.

During the health emergency period linked to the Coronavirus pandemic, which has profoundly disrupted children's lives and their routines, the De Marchi Foundation has developed a remote art therapy project to show young patients that the absence of their "friendly" figure of reference at the Day Hospital is only temporary and that, in the meantime, they can still play with her virtually.
