The Uefa Champions League match-ball used in a match of the 2001/02 season.
The 2001–02 UEFA Champions League was the 47th edition of Europe's premier club football competition and the 10th since it was renamed from the European Cup to the UEFA Champions League. The tournament was won by Real Madrid, who defeated Bayer Leverkusen in the final to claim their ninth European title. In the second group stage, the 16 qualified teams (eight group winners and eight runners-up from the previous round) were drawn into four groups of four teams, each consisting of two winners and two runners-up. Teams from the same country or from the same first-round group could not be drawn together. The top two teams in each group advanced to the quarter-finals.
